Friends, it has been a week! It’s not an easy one by any stretch.

On the blog this week, I shared the story of my grandmother’s upholstery. That was a walk down memory lane for me!

In sad news, late Wednesday evening, my mother passed away. Many people have asked if I will travel to South Africa for the funeral. Sadly, not. With quarantine and so many people sick at the moment, travel is not an easy or safe undertaking.

This coming week, we will send our firstborn off to university and help her move into her dorm room. I am sad but also happy for her to start this new and exciting chapter of her life.

Life can be tough and beautiful at the same time. Let’s cherish each other and celebrate all that is beautiful.

I want to say a big thank you to YOU for sparing a few minutes of your precious time to hang out here with me. I see you. I appreciate you!

  1. Marieza, I am so sorry for your loss, you are in my prayers. You are one of the sweetest people I have ever met! These are all such great posts, so inspiring! Thank you for sharing them! I need inspiration for fall, I really am not ready to let summer go and need all the help I can get.

  2. So sorry for your loss :(. I read so many blogs and even though I enjoy almost all of them, I have never felt the urge to leave a comment, but your post today touched my heart. I am all about diy’s and I love learning anything at all about decor and I can find so many things I want to do. Just want to say thank you and God bless you and your family.

    1. Hi Lee!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. It means the world to me and made my day.
I am so glad you enjoy my posts. I have so many great projects planned that what I have shared so far is just the tip of the iceberg.
I hope you are having an amazing weekend
      Marieza

  3. Still sending you love with regard to your mom. Also, I know the emotions you are going through with regard to your daughter heading off to school. I had both of mine leave the same year! Ahhhhh what a mess I was. The emotions of sad for us and thrilled for them are at such odds but of course our love for them being able to take the next step on their journey in life is the most important. You will savour the moments she is home or the calls you will get filling you in. Thanks so much for sharing me!!! I appreciate it so much. Love the others that you shared as well! The silver fall decor – stop! My heart is beating out of my chest – so lovely!!!

    1. Thank you, Crystal. Your support means the world to me.
I can just imagine how difficult it must have been having them both move out in one year. Yikes!
It is just a pleasure to share your beautiful posts.

  4. Marieza, I’m so sorry to hear about your mother. I lost my mum 4 years ago and there’s not a day goes by that I don’t think about her but it does get easier. Sending your children off into the world is a double edged sword – you want them to be independent but you worry and miss them. My youngest left home this year too. What you said – sad for me but happy for them. It’s a difficult time. My thoughts are with you.

    1. Thank you, Carol, I appreciate it. Thanks also for sharing your experience.
